<b>The Call has begun. But only the ears of the brave and courageous are attuned to its cry. Its power is what has lead you to this domain, to hear the plight of Dereth, a mystical island thrown into turmoil by a wave of tyranny and evil.

But there is hope, by way of a good Magician named Asheron whose whereabouts on Dereth remain unknown. His awesome powers are legendary but in his ultimate wisdom, he knows that he cannot fight the overpowering forces alone. To win back his once peaceful and idyllic homeland, Asheron seeks your help and other humans like you in ridding the vicious Olthoi monsters and their kind once and for all.

To aid your passage to his land, Asheron has created a portal from Earth which will allow you to make your journey in the swing of a broadsword. There are other similar portals on Dereth enabling such rapid travel between various locations and towns, saving many hours and even days of travel across many miles.
<br><br>
Upon your arrival you must create a new manifestation in order to distinguish yourself from thousand of others who will also be taking part. You do this by choosing a profession, attributes and skills that will best aid you in the journey ahead.
<br><br>
What lies before you thereafter is unknown, but what is clear is that this new found land holds many adventures, treasures and magical items. Many others who will have also answered the call will be able to guide you on your way and help you gain valuable experience points. This will make your character stronger and more formidable and in time you will also be able to pass on your knowledge, often being rewarded for your guidance.

The challenges that lie within Dereth should only be attempted by the brave and true of heart, for the dangers are many. But for those that accept, endurance and a quick wit will gain rewards beyond your wildest dreams.

Entry to Dereth is only possible via the portal that has now become known as 'The Internet', To answer the 'call you will also need a magical CD titled 'Asheron's Call' which becomes available in the UK only on the fourteenth day of the fourth month of the year 2000. Asheron looks forward to your arrival.</b>
