/chat <on/off> | Sets whether or not you receive normal chat. When set to "off", you will no longer receive any spoken speech (normal chat). However, you will still receive tells.

You may also use the -account flag and/or limit the squelch by indicating specific message types. For example, this will filter out all tell messages from the account of Oswald, assuming that Oswald was the last person who sent you an @tell: Example:
