Investigate the work of [[Lord Rytheran]] by visiting his private sanctum to retrieve his journal.


This quest must be completed as part of the [[Jester Focuses]] quest. If you are planning on completing it, consider doing that quest as well.
== Walkthrough & Notes ==
# After speaking with Danira, head to the [[Graveyard]], once there, clear your way to the crypt located at 65.6S, 43.9W, once inside you should see an ancient chest, open it and take the {{Itemlink|Rytheran's Master Seal}}.
# From here, you must take the Master Seal to the statue located outside the mage academy, the fastest route here would be to take the [[Neydisa Castle]] portal in the south wing of the [[Town Network]] and run to the [[Master's Sentinel]] statue located at 74.7N, 18.4E. Once there, hand the Master's Sentinel statue your [[Rytheran's Master Seal]] and it will teleport you to the dungeon (the drop is safe).
#* Note: Once you have handed the Master's Sentinel your [[Rytheran's Master Seal]], you are flagged to re-enter the dungeon (if repeating you do not need to get another seal, you're still flagged for entry). If you use the surface portal or tie to it, you can recall should you die (use the statue instead of handing seal to get back in).
# Once inside [[Lord Rytheran's Private Sanctum]], the drop is safe so make sure you are buffed and have a fire weapon buffed as you will encounter numerous undead in this dungeon. When ready, proceed north and then east through the dungeon and you will come upon [[Imperial Guard]]s and [[Imperial Archivist]]s, kill them and continue on until you come upon a room with a 3-way split, to the north and south you will find locked cloister doors and to the east you will find a locked Lord's Sanctum door.
# First, head to the north, upon clearing your way through you will find a spot with a monster named [[Majordomo of the North Cloister]], kill it and retrieve the {{Itemlink|North Cloister Key}}, use this on the nearby locked northern cloister door.
# Continue on and you will encounter many [[Blood Priestess]]es, they will spam level 7 acid attacks and drain your health and mana quite a bit, kill them and move on. Eventually you will come to an open room with 3 priestesses and some pillars and bookshelves, once you clear the room, on the eastern side on the floor near one of the pillars you will find the {{Itemlink|North Cloister Key Half}}, pick it up and head back to the 3-way split room again.
# Proceed to the south clearing the [[Imperial Guard]]s and [[Imperial Archivist]]s along the way until you locate the [[Majordomo of the South Cloister]], kill it and retrieve the {{Itemlink|South Cloister Key}}, use this on the nearby locked southern cloister door.
# Continue on through the door and you will encounter many [[Celestial Illuminator]]s, kill them and proceed through again until you come to another open room with pillars and bookshelves, kill the 3 illuminators in here and on the southern side of the room, near one of the bookshelves you will find the {{Itemlink|South Cloister Key Half}}, pick it up.
# Use [[North Cloister Key Half]] with the [[South Cloister Key Half]] to create {{Itemlink|Key to the Lord's Sanctum}}.
# Head back to the 3-way split and this time go to the east, now use [[Key to the Lord's Sanctum]] to unlock the Lord's Sanctum door. You will see a pit immediately with a [[Imperial Guard]] on the other side, jump over the pit and proceed straight east, killing all the guards and archivists along the way, eventually you will turn north and proceed past more guards. Continue on until you reach a room with 2 [[Imperial Guard]]s and 2 [[Imperial Archivist]]s standing on a square block of obsidian in the middle of a room, clear the room and on the northern wall you will find a desk with {{Itemlink|Rytheran's Untranslated Journal}} to the left of it. Pick up the untranslated journal and take the surface portal to the west. (Book respawn is a 4 min timer)
# Portal back to [[Zaikhal]] and hand the [[Rytheran's Untranslated Journal]] to [[Danira the Dusty]] to receive your rewards.

# Head to the [[Graveyard]] and make your way to the crypt located at 65.6S, 43.9W.  Inside you will find an ancient chest, open it and take [[Rytheran's Master Seal]].  Each person will need one.
#* Route: The crypt is straight ahead and to the left when existing the Graveyard Recall bunker.  Otherwise, run to the coords listed from the [[Halls of Metos]] near [[Wai Jhou]].
# Take the Master Seal to the statue located outside at 74.7N, 18.4E.  Give the Master's Sentinel statue your [[Rytheran's Master Seal]] and it will teleport you to the dungeon (the drop is safe).

Overview

Walkthrough & Notes

  1. After speaking with Danira, head to the Graveyard, once there, clear your way to the crypt located at 65.6S, 43.9W, once inside you should see an ancient chest, open it and take the Rytheran's Master Seal.
  2. From here, you must take the Master Seal to the statue located outside the mage academy, the fastest route here would be to take the Neydisa Castle portal in the south wing of the Town Network and run to the Master's Sentinel statue located at 74.7N, 18.4E. Once there, hand the Master's Sentinel statue your Rytheran's Master Seal and it will teleport you to the dungeon (the drop is safe).
    • Note: Once you have handed the Master's Sentinel your Rytheran's Master Seal, you are flagged to re-enter the dungeon (if repeating you do not need to get another seal, you're still flagged for entry). If you use the surface portal or tie to it, you can recall should you die (use the statue instead of handing seal to get back in).

  6. Proceed to the south clearing the Imperial Guards and Imperial Archivists along the way until you locate the Majordomo of the South Cloister, kill it and retrieve the South Cloister Key, use this on the nearby locked southern cloister door.
  7. Continue on through the door and you will encounter many Celestial Illuminators, kill them and proceed through again until you come to another open room with pillars and bookshelves, kill the 3 illuminators in here and on the southern side of the room, near one of the bookshelves you will find the South Cloister Key Half, pick it up.
  8. Use North Cloister Key Half with the South Cloister Key Half to create Key to the Lord's Sanctum.
  9. Head back to the 3-way split and this time go to the east, now use Key to the Lord's Sanctum to unlock the Lord's Sanctum door. You will see a pit immediately with a Imperial Guard on the other side, jump over the pit and proceed straight east, killing all the guards and archivists along the way, eventually you will turn north and proceed past more guards. Continue on until you reach a room with 2 Imperial Guards and 2 Imperial Archivists standing on a square block of obsidian in the middle of a room, clear the room and on the northern wall you will find a desk with Rytheran's Untranslated Journal to the left of it. Pick up the untranslated journal and take the surface portal to the west. (Book respawn is a 4 min timer)
  10. Portal back to Zaikhal and hand the Rytheran's Untranslated Journal to Danira the Dusty to receive your rewards.
