The Strathelar Royal Guard is named after Queen Elysa Strathelar who formed the faction to help protect her people in times of strife.
Elements of Revenge
During the Elements of Revenge story arc, Elysa ordered her guards to build outposts near three Nexus towns after the Arcanum has reported portal space disturbances in those locations.[1]. Soon after these towers were built, the Starter Outposts in six towns - totalling at 12 outposts - were destroyed by Martine.
The Training Halls were retired after the attacks, and Elysa formed the Training Academy where her Royal Guard could both train new arrivals to Dereth as well as establish a stronger defense at the remaining outposts.
Later, Martine created his own Simulacra in the image of the Strathelar Royal Guard.[2] First, they were used in an attempt to kill Prince Borelean[2] and later they were used to raid an Arcanum research facility.[3]
