Overview

Prove to Hoshino Kei and the Spectral Nanjou that you are worthy to join their cause.

Walkthrough & Notes

1. Speak with Darviss inside the building in Hoshino Town #2 at 78.1N, 42.2W.
   • Route/Shortcut: Stonehold to Woodshore Cottages portal at 69.6N, 20.2W.
   • There are many spectral enemies around the building and inside. Use caution!
2. Enter the Nanjou Shou-jen Academy portal located directly behind him.
   • The dungeon is linear and divided into 3 main sections each with a locked door at the end. Each section has traps which cast vulns, walls, and bolts. The first section is bludgeon, the second is pierce, and the third is slash. The Tanada all seem to be weak to bludgeon damage.
3. Work your way through the linear dungeon, until you reach a Sapphire Door.
4. Kill the nearby Spectral Sapphire Assassins to spawn the Spectral Sapphire Gatekeeper.
5. Kill the Gatekeeper and loot a Sapphire Door Key from his corpse.
6. Use the key to open to door.
7. Continue through the linear dungeon, and repeat this process 2 more times, using an Emerald Door Key and Ruby Door Key on their respective doors.
8. After using the Ruby Key, you will enter the final room, with the Spectral Nanjou Master located inside.
9. Kill the master and loot the Spectral Nanjou Master's Sword and Legendary Key from his corpse (he drops 9 of each).
10. Give the sword to Darviss, who is also in the room for your reward. Turning in flags you for the next quest in the series, Tanada Intercept and Slaughter.
    • Note: The surface portal is a hot drop back into the house in Hoshino Town.

Dialog

Opening Dialog

Darviss tells you, "Stay your weapons warrior, I mean you no harm."

Darviss tells you, "If we had wanted you dead you would already be at your lifestone, make no mistake about that."

Darviss tells you, "This is not our goal, quite the opposite actually. Hoshino Kei can always find a use for the strongest, bravest, and mightiest of travellers. Are you among the elite of your kind?"

Darviss tells you, "Perhaps. Perhaps you will make a fine addition for her. Enter the dungeon behind me and bring me a blade from one of my Masters within...if you can survive and endure the challenge. Only the most powerful of creature could perform such a deed. This will go far in showing her you may be worthy of attention."

Darviss tells you, "There is no shame if you refuse this offer or fail in your attempt. My kind inhabit this Academy where their Masters train them in the ways of death and the destruction of their enemy. Be warned, they will be fierce and unrelenting in defending their chosen Masters, especially in groups."

Darviss tells you, "I will await you in the final room of the Academy. You must present the blade to me inside of the Academy to pass my test."

Rewards Dialog

You allow Darviss to examine your Spectral Nanjou Master's Sword.

You hand over 1 of your Spectral Nanjou Master's Swords.

You've earned 300,000,000 experience.

You've earned 15,000 Luminance.

Darviss gives you Legendary Key.

Darviss takes the sword from your hand.

Darviss tells you, "Well done. Many have tried, and many have failed. This deed will show Hoshino Kei you may be worthy when the time comes."

Darviss tells you, "Do not let this victory swell your ego. Continue to wreak havoc on your enemies throughout this land and one day she may come for you."

Darviss tells you, "I have nothing more for you at this time. If you seek further tasks find Kousha, they may have more work for you."

The Gatekeeper leaps from the shadows and attacks!

Update History

The Risen Princess Quest introduced. Balance of Power Mana Forge Key reward changed to a Legendary Key. Additional quest NPC, Darviss, added to the rewards room to make it easier to turn in the sword. The Quest for Freedom Luminance reward increased from 9,000 to 15,000. XP reward increased from 250,000,000 to 300,000,000. Repeat timer changed from 6 days to 20 hours.
