Paradox-touched Olthoi are the creations of Aerbax. Using the Tanada he controlled, Aerbax captured an olthoi queen and altered it with the combined powers of virindi and shadow. The Paradox Queen was then implanted in the Black Death Catacombs in Olthoi North where it began its new brood.

The Paradox Olthoi are only found in Olthoi North, concentrated mostly in the Black Death Catacomb where their Queen dug her new hive, and the Paradox-touched Valley where the Ward Guardian resides. The weaker Nymphs and grubs can be found roaming across all of Olthoi North, while the stronger adults are only in the Queen's hive and their valley.

The Paradox Olthoi may or may not be hollow, shield hollow, or both, depending on which breed you are fighting. Some of the stronger ones breathe fire. All the fliers have the unique ability to dispel all casted spells from a player, including 8s, leaving you with only the enchantments provided by your equipment. To help combat this dispelling magic, the Arcanum researcher Hisham al-Evv sells Protective Tunics and Protective Leggings which have strong Life protection enchantments.
