Rumors are notes sold by Barkeepers and Scribes that point to content, such as Dungeons, Points of Interest and Quests, that players might not be aware of. Rumors usually refer to content that is local or nearby to the town they are sold in.

During the Across the Vast Divide event, rumors sold in Starter Towns (and all rumors later introduced) were changed to a color-coded system that reflects the level range of the associated content; however, not all existing rumors were updated with these colors.

Rumors are now being replaced by the newer color coded Contracts that provide a similiar function to Rumors but now automatically add quest information to a contracts panel (up to 50 contracts can be stored). They also allow you to track each quest's timer as well.
