- Combine 2 Dark Shards to create a Shadow Fragment:
- Combine 2 Small Shards to create a Crystal Fragment:
- Combine a Shadow Fragment with a Crystal Fragment to create a Sparkling Gem:
- Combine 2 Sparkling Gems to create a Scintillating Gem:
- Bring your Scintillating Gems to the appropriate NPC to receive Shadow Armor. You must have 1 Scintillating Gem for each piece of armor in any given set.
- Amuli: Jibril ibn Rashid - 7.1N, 3.0E in Al-Jalima
- Celdon: Alean the Steel Forger - 18.5N, 62.8E in Eastham
- Koujia: Koga Hideki - 82.9S, 46.0E in Kara

- During A Gathering of Colors, a new quest became available to turn your Shadow Armor into Sharded Shadow Armor.
- During A Change in Tactics, a new quest became available to turn your Shadow Armor into Prismatic Shadow Armor.
