Description
Located between Khayyaban and Baishi around 44.0S, 43.4E, Viridian Rise is an area centered around a newly discovered Deru Tree. It is a tier 8 loot area filled with high level A'nekshay, Phyntos Wasps, Zefirs, Wisps, and Gromnies. There are guardian statues outside the area which must be used in order to gain entry, as well as statues in the valleys which provide access to the Viridian Root dungeon.
The plateau in the very center of the area holds the Deru Tree and several NPCs. The 2 surrounding plateaus are divided into a total of 7 isolated forest areas that must be completed sequentially in order to reach the Deru Tree. The isolated forest sections are separated by thick forest walls that cannot be crossed by creatures or players. There are also 2 jump bridges that must be crossed or bypassed along the way. In order to reach the NPCs in this area, you must fight through the forest areas one by one.
The Deru Tree itself has a very challenging jump puzzle associated with it. A buffed Jump skill of approximately 615 is required, but over 630 is recommended. The jumping puzzle is optional and provides access to a single NPC.

- From Baishi, take the Kelnen Village portal at 50.0S 63.5E.
Location
Entrance Flagging
In order to access the starting point in the forest, each player must complete a one time flagging. Outside the area is a circle of statues with tree names, with a single statue in the center. On the ground nearby is a note which mentions Asheron and the name of the area, Viridian Rise. This is a clue for determining the correct order of the statues. Each person must talk to the statues in the correct order to be flagged.
The correct order is: Oak, Hickory, Birch, Willow, Maple, Cedar, Pine, Spruce, Yew, Ash.
Note that if you make a mistake, talk to the statue in the center to reset and start over. After flagging, you can use the center statue to open a portal to the start of the area. There appears to be no level requirement on the flagging.
The order of statues is given by lore clues given out by several famous NPCs. They are: Asheron, Isin Dule, Ulgrim, Shade of Lady Adja, and Popkin of the Gate. Telling each of them 'Viridian Rise' will make them respond with lore and a clue to the statue order.

Getting to the Deru Tree
In order to reach the Deru Tree, you must fight across the 7 areas of the forest surrounding it. Each area contains creatures which drop Essences upon death. These are needed to reach the next area of the forest. There are also statues scattered in each area. One of the statues will have a blue flame over its head, marking it as active. You must give 10 Essences to the blue flame statue to summon a portal to the next area. This must be repeated in each area.
Important: the blue flame rotates from statue to statue within each area and does not stay in the same place. You will likely need to search for the statue that is currently "active". The statue takes all of your Essences when you use it, so there is no stockpiling for future areas. The portal summoned has a very short timer (20 seconds?) and must be used quickly.
The 4th area has a jump bridge connecting to the 5th area. You can either attempt to cross the bridge using short shift jumps, or collect 20 Essences and use the nearby statue for a portal across.
The 7th area is the largest and contains the most creatures. At its end is another jump bridge leading to the Deru Tree area. There is also a statue nearby which takes 20 Essences in order to skip the bridge.
