In December we'll be making a number of improvements to these three towns. These include:

* Moving the casinos closer to the towns.
* Adjusting the starter quests based in these towns.

The Future:

Many players have written to tell us that they really enjoyed the update to the Lethe quest, and to ask if we have any other quest updates in mind for the future. As it happens, we do, and you'll see the first of them in the December update. (Here's a hint: if you have low level characters near Holtburg, you may want to be careful where you log them out before the update.)

We are revising two towns and two quests in April. Holtburg will be revised in the same way that Shoushi and Yaraq were previously. The portal drops and Lifestone locations will be made more convenient, and the surrounding content will be adjusted for balance.

As also mentioned in previous Letters, over the next few months we will focus on the towns of Holtburg, Shoushi and Yaraq. Our goal is to increase player traffic through these towns, to make them more desirable places to spend time in-game. In December we'll be making a number of improvements to these three towns. These include:

  • Making the portals into the towns more consistent and increasing the number of portals out of the towns.
  • Moving the casinos closer to the towns.
  • Adjusting the starter quests based in these towns.

In addition to the three bullet points above, there are some improvements that we can't mention here – things that players will discover over the course of the December event.

In addition, we've revised much of the content around the starter town of Shoushi, rebalancing and tweaking where we felt it was necessary. Over time, we plan on retouching all of the older towns in this manner, as well as making other changes and improvements to make them more fun and valuable to spend time in.

Miscellaneous Changes and Improvements

  • As part of our ongoing town revisions, rumors sold in towns will be color-coded to reflect the intended level range of the associated content. Light Blue notes are for 110, Blue are for 1020, Green are for 2040, and Orange are for 6080. For March, the town rumors to receive these updates are those in Yaraq and Shoushi.

Minor Details

  • Brother Gonun the Scribe in Shoushi no longer sells rumors; look for these rumors with the two barkeeps in town.

The other content revision this month is to the town of Yaraq. Yaraq has been revised in the same way that Shoushi was in January, and Holtburg will be in April. Portal drops and Lifestones have been moved, and the surrounding content has been revised.
