I want to say that I have nothing against PhatAC, and I understand that currently, it is the only playable version of the game. However, PhatAC should strive to match the content presented on this wiki, and not the other way around. Or to frame it another way, if we change the wiki to match PhatAC, how will people testing for bugs / doing QA of PhatAC know that something is wrong? Or what will the ACEmulator project have to compare against?
And, as an aside, PhatAC does not technically match any version of AC that was ever released, and the Dagger of Tikola is a good example of that. When AC shut down, the [[Dagger of Tikola]] used Light Weapon skill, and did  8.5-34 Fire damage. In February 2005 (the time period of PhatAC's data), the dagger used Dagger skill, and did 3-12 Fire damage. However, on PhatAC, the dagger most likely uses Finesse Weapon skill, doing 3-12 Fire damage. This is because Pea had to modify all the old weapon data to fit the new skills, so all daggers became finesse, all swords became heavy, and everything else became light.
If we change the quest guide to match PhatAC, do we also change the article on the dagger itself to match PhatAC, even though that version of the dagger never appeared in retail? My opinion is that no, we should not, and the wiki should exist as a reliable record for emulators to use.
I'd also like to mention that I am working on updating items that have multiple versions to include easier to access version history. An example of this is the [[Directions to the Pillars of the Inner Sea]] entry. You can view the retired versions of this text via the links in the introduction bar. I am currently only planning on doing this for items, monsters, and NPCs, but the idea could be expanded to quest guides as well.
:''All valid points that i should have considered before making the edit. Thank you in general for keeping this wiki up.''

Re: Dagger of Tikola Quest

Regarding your contribution on User talk:An Adventurer and Talk:Dagger of Tikola Quest:

My Apologies for making a change to reflect how this quest was now. I will refrain from doing so in the future.
My edit was to reflect the status of the quest under current PhatAC emulation which is pre 2010.

When AC shut down, the Dagger of Tikola used Light Weapon skill, and did 8.5-34 Fire damage.

An example of this is the Directions to the Pillars of the Inner Sea entry. You can view the retired versions of this text via the links in the introduction bar. I am currently only planning on doing this for items, monsters, and NPCs, but the idea could be expanded to quest guides as well.

All valid points that i should have considered before making the edit. Thank you in general for keeping this wiki up.
