::And in some cases a png would make more sense, like a closeup detailing in game textures. Like with [[:File:Accursed Scarecrow Mask Live.png]]. But for distance shots or images that are more than a few hundred pixels to a side the size really grows for images that don't do well with png's lossless compression scheme (unlike say maps). So I just wanted to make clear it's not a hard and fast rule, just a general guideline.
