Armor Rending gives the item the ability to ignore some of its opponent's armor. The amount of armor it ignores depends on the attack skill of the wielder. Because this reduces by a percentage, it is most effective on creatures with very high armor, it is less effective (not as much of an increase in over other options) when the natural armor is either low, or has been reduced a lot by the life magic vuln Imperil.

Armor Rending can be added to a loot weapon with [[Magic Item Tinkering]] and [[Salvaged Sunstone]]. This property has no effect on the damage caused by war spells (war spells do not take armor into account).
