Quest Overview

  • This quest was originally part of the effort to open to the portals to the world of Bur. There were originally orbs in the three pedestal dungeons which were used to activate the portal. Those that turned in the orbs got the title "Portal Ritualist". Now there are only shards of the pedestals in the dungeons can can be turned in to the pedestals for experience rewards. The dungeons can be run without killing a single monster in about 2 or 3 minutes if you know the way well and can jump well.
  • There are three pedestal dungeons that have the same layout but different monsters and level requirements for entering.

Walk Through

  1. To get to the Pedestals take the Glystaene Cottages (8.8N 60.9E) in Rithwic then run north to the top of the mountain peak (67.4N 30.5E) or if you have Bur Recall use that and then take the Portal to Dereth in Kor-Gursha
  2. To open the portals to the pedestal dungeon there is an item magic skill check. The western pedestal requires about 360 or greater item magic skill to the open the portal. Be sure to buff your skill if it doesn't work unbuffed. If you pass the skill check a gateway will appear.
    • Sucess: You examine the pedestal carefully, and divine how to open a portal using this pedestal.
    • Failure: You examine the pedestal and do not see how to make it function, although you suspect its function is related to the other two pillars in the area. You may wish to come back and examine this pillar when you are more powerful.
  3. TRAP! From the room where the portal drops you there is a ramp down but there is a dispel trap at the top of the ramp. You must position yourself in front of the passage and do a tap jump through the doorway in order to avoid it.
  4. At the bottom of the ramp turn right then take the first left and from there run straight through a hallway populated by ghosts (you'll go up then down and end up at a door).
  5. TRAP! From the door you will go down a ramp and at the bottom there is a dispel trap in the narrow hallway leading to a wider hallway. To avoid it stand at the bottom of the ramp and take a step forward (don't go too far forward though) then do a tap jump forward. Whether you miss the trap or not head straight down the hall and down a ramp. The hallway turns sharply so you can lose whatever is chasing you and can rebuff if you were dispelled.
  6. A the bottom of the ramp turn right and go in the third room on your left. There is a passageway in the back of the room. Go down and then dispel yourself if you can to remove any frost vulns (and you probably will).
  7. Now comes the lever room. The room does cold damage if you stand still too long so its best to keep moving. If you are not cold vulned you take about 32 damage a hit but if you are vulned then the damage increases to about 90 damage a hit and not many can survive that hence dispelling is imperative

    Map of the lever room
    White area = solid
    Black Area = pit
    Red dot = lever
    • A rough map of the lever room is to the right
    • Note: If you fall into the pit with the ghosts there is a way back up by which you return to the ledge through a door to the west.
    • First run to the ledge in front of you to the north. Tap jump forward (not shift jump) at about 1/4 power. This will land you on a platform that spans the entire center of the room.
    • From the center platform you can see two platforms with levers across another gap like the one you just crossed. Aim for one of the levers (doesn't matter which is pulled first) and do another 1/4 power tap jump forward onto the lever platform.
    • Pull the lever then do another 1/4 power tap jump forward across to the other lever and pull it.
    • Now do another 1/4 power tap jump back to the center platform and then another jump back to the ledge where you came into the room. The doors that were opened by the levers are to the east.
  8. Run up and you will enter a room filled with many monsters and a several Pedestal Shards on the ground. If you are solo its best to dispel yourself then sprint in and grab a shard then portal out fast.
  9. Return to the Pedestals by the Bur Portal and hand the appropriate pedestal the shard.
