Walk Through
To begin you will need to collect a Seal. Each person in your party that wants the reward items will need a Seal. The Halls of Metos are good dungeons to gather seals in, or they can also be won in medium stakes gambling. When you have collected your seals, head out to Bandit Castle. From the castle, head east up the side of a nearby mountain.
- 66.1N, 51.4E - Bandit Castle Standing Stone
Each person must use their Seal to unlock the Standing Stone and acquire the Bandit Rune Transcription. Its burden value when holding a transcription is 9025. When everyone has the transcription, the Hasty Note on the ground will hint at the Tremblant Party's next move: Neydisa Castle. When you reach Neydisa head west atop a small snowcapped hill.
- 69.2N, 15.3E - Neydisa Castle Standing Stone
Everyone will need to take the Neydisa Rune Transcription from the Standing Stone. However, only the first stone at Bandit Castle is locked and requires a seal. When everyone is done, the Brief Note will direct you to Stonehold. When you reach Stonehold, head north then northwest, past the Giant Snowman, to the final standing stone.
- 72.0N, 22.0W - Stonehold Standing Stone
When everyone has looted the Stonehold Rune Transcription, you can head to Zaikhal. The rune transcriptions must now be combined in the correct order: Use the Bandit Rune Transcription on the Neydisa Rune Transcription to create the Partial Rune Transcription. Then use the Stonehold Rune Transcription on the Partial Rune Transcription to create the Complete Rune Transcription. It is now ready to be translated.
- Kuyiza bint Zayi - 13.9N, 0.1E (Zaikhal)
Give Kuyiza the transcription. She will give you the Gelidite Standing Stone Translation and direct you to a Planar Mage in Plateau Village.
- Mairisa bint Fuda - 44.4N, 43.4W (Plateau Village)
Turn your translation over to Mairisa. She will give you the Gelidite Treasure Key and summon a portal to the location written in the translation. Each member of your party will need to turn in their translation to gain a key. Mairisa will summon a portal each time. At the other side of the portal, you will find yourself dropped atop a steep hill near Mount Esper. A few Ice Golems will be there to greet you. When everyone is ready, enter the portal in front of you.
The first section of the Mountain Cavern is looping, braided section of cave. Sticking to the northern halls will get you through. When you are past the maze, you will come to three chambers, each lower than the previous. Keep following down and you will reach the first part of the city. You will come to a locked door (resistance: 162). After picking this door, there is a series of three doors that must be opened by other means. You have two options:
- If you are in a group, entering the nearby magical portal will open the door and send the portal user back to the three chambers. This can be repeated to open all the doors, and member of the group can hold the doors open for the portalers.
- If you are alone or in a small group, have one person run back to the three chambers. In each chamber is a ring of standing stones. In the center of the standing stones are pressure plates. Running through each ring fast enough will open all the doors and allow for enough time to make it through them all.
When you have passed the lever doors you will come to the portal to the next area.
The city of Frore is fairly easy to navigate. Right after the first room there will be a small pit to jump into. If you are skilled enough to jump back out of a pit of this depth you can skip the first area of the city by taking a left in the tunnels ahead. If you are not, take a right. In the first area of the city there is one lever you will have to pull to move on. It is located on the second floor across the bridges. The second area is simple - you just want to take the only hallway leading up. If you took the shortcut jump before, you will end up in the third area. Simply head north, and at the northern end of the chamber head east. This will lead you to the final room. Clear the room of the golems and Gelidites and each person can use their treasure key to loot the chest. If you wish to, you take the hall next to the chest to visit the room that once held The Great Work. It now contains several larger crystal fragment creatures.
Lore & Dialog
You give Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator Complete Rune Transcription.
Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator tells you, "Hm. This appears to be a portalspace coordinate. Such things are not within my knowledge. You might want to seek out my colleague Marisa bint Fuya."
Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator tells you, "She would be able to cast a portal to this location. Unfortunately, she's on sabbatical, and has gone to the town of Plateau."
Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator gives you Gelidite Standing Stone Translation.
Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator tells you, "Be warned, though - you will need a substantial party to reach the Lost City, and should you die..."
Kuyiza bint Zayi the Translator tells you, "You will be unable to reenter the caves to recover your equipment. Be certain you are prepared before you ask Mairisa to cast the portal!"
You give Mairisa bint Fuda Gelidite Standing Stone Translation.
Mairisa bint Fuda tells you, "Yes, I can provide transit to the location written here. I believe you will have need of this. A passing adventurer threw it at my head some time ago, when my portal spell fizzled."
Mairisa bint Fuda gives you Gelidite Treasure Key.
