Lord Mhoire Quest

Quest Overview

Enter the locked tomb of Lord Mhoire and defeat the corrupted Lord Cynreft Mhoire and his hordes of skeletons and undead. This quest is commonly referred to as Graveyard Colosseum (Graveyard Colo, GY colo), due to the waves of skeletons and undead that must be defeated.

To begin this quest, you must obtain an Ornate Bone Key, which spawn on creatures throughout the Graveyard at night. Higher drop rates have been reported for Pyre Champions, Wight Blade Sorcerers, and Wight Captains. You can also get keys via the Disturbance in the Ley Lines quest.

This quest has no timer and can be done repeatedly. A new key is required to start the quest each time. As with most quests in Graveyard, it is easier to complete this quest by gathering and starting it during the daytime.

The rewards NPC for this quest rewards only 10 players per completion. Consider bringing only a single fellowship, or planning how to rotate who gets rewards when completing multiple times in a row. You can log out characters inside the dungeon if desired. This quest is the fastest way to get Ancient Mhoire Coins as 3-5 are given as part of the reward and the quest can be repeated immediately.

This quest is directly tied to the first portion of The Jester quest. Consider doing that quest after this one, as it involves getting a key with a timer during this quest.

Walk Through

  1. Have one or more characters obtain an Ornate Bone Key. These are found on creatures found in the Graveyard at night and from the Disturbance in the Ley Lines quest.
    • It is common to have multiple keys before starting the quest. This allows the quest to be run multiple times very quickly.
  2. Gather your group inside the building at 64.6S 44.1W in the Graveyard (guarded by two Guardian Statues).
    • Tip: If it is night, don't attack creatures while inside the building, as it will get the attention of the entire graveyard and block the entrance.
  3. One person with a key should talk to the Guardian Statue outside the temple and click Yes to use the key and spawn a portal to Lord Mhoire's Tomb.
    • Note: The correct statue is the one on the right when facing the building, or on the left if you are inside the building.
    • Important: The portal only lasts about 30 seconds, so everyone must be close and ready to enter the portal immediately after it spawns.
  4. Once inside, move to one of the far corners of the room. Missile weapon characters and mages should jump up onto the tombs.
  5. When all are ready, the person that used the key must speak with the Shade of Parieth NPC to begin the quest.
    • Note: If you died outside AFTER using a key, you are still flagged to activate the quest inside. You will need to either use another key to get back in, or have someone else come out and turn in a key.
  6. The battle consists of 5 waves of enemies which each spawn after the last has been cleared.
    1. Round 1: Pyre Minions
    2. Round 2: Wights, Wight Captains, Wight Blade Sorcerers
    3. Round 3: Pyre Minions
    4. Round 4: Pyre Minions, Pyre Skeletons, Pyre Champions
    5. Round 5: Pyre Minions, Pyre Skeletons, Pyre Champions, Lord Cynreft Mhoire, Pillars of Fire
  7. For the last round, ignore Lord Cynreft Mhoire until everything else is dead. Missile toons and mages should kill the Pillars of Fire as soon as they spawn, as they can be very dangerous if they target the same character. The pillars will continue to respawn throughout the fight (supposedly whenever a critical hit lands on Lord Cynreft). Make sure they are taken down quickly.
  8. When Lord Cynreft Mhoire dies, the Lord Cynreft Mhoire (NPC) (ghost) spawns near the middle of the room. Speak to the NPC to obtain 3-5 Ancient Mhoire Coins and Lord Cynreft Mhoire's Key, which opens the Sealed Vault on the north wall. The NPC only gives out 10 rewards per completion, so if you have a large group you should designate who is getting rewards.
  9. [Optional] If you are also flagging for The Jester quest, give the Lord Mhoire NPC the Pleading Letter. If you have done this previously, Lord Mhoire will automatically give you a new Jester Prison Key when you talk to him for rewards. The key has a 24-hour timer (real time) on it.
  10. Loot the Sealed Vault using your key if desired. It contains tier 7 loot, an ancient emblem which can be exchanged for a Mana Forge Key at any Mana Forge, and Lord Cynreft Mhoire's Signet Ring used in the Paragon Weapons quest.
  11. If your group has more Ornate Bone Keys, everyone except whoever is turning in the next key can remain in the dungeon. The key dropper needs to return to Graveyard and give another key to the Guardian Statue to setup the next run. This is also a good time to bring in additional players or alternate characters if desired.
    • Note: If your group is wiped out during the quest, there is no way to get back inside. The quest resets 1 hour after the key was given to the Guardian Statue. You must wait until the timer expires before trying again or recovering corpses.

Lore & Dialog

You allow Guardian Statue to examine your Ornate Bone Key.
Use the statue to insert the key into the key hole.
As the bone key slides into the keyhole you hear a whispered voice.
"This key will lead you to my tomb. I await you, if you believe your group has the strength to defeat me. Use this key and you will have only a short time to pass through into my final resting place."
You hand over 1 of your Ornate Bone Keys.
The bone key turns with a loud click and crumbles to dust.

Shade of Parieth tells you, "Lord Cynreft has summoned me here to warn off those who would disturb him. I hope you are prepared!"
Shade of Parieth says, "Prepare yourselves! The Royal Guard of Lord Cynreft come forth to protect him! You have one hour to defeat the guard and battle Lord Cynreft Mhoire!"
Shade of Parieth tells you, "I await the one who used Lord Cynreft's key. If the one is not among you then begone."

Despoilers! You will not lure me from my resting place!

His corrupted form destroyed, the spirit of Lord Cynreft appears.
Lord Cynreft says, "My time on this world is brief! Speak with me quickly heroes."

You hand over all of your Jester Prison Keys.
Lord Cynreft Mhoire gives you Jester Prison Key.
Lord Cynreft Mhoire tells you, "You have my thanks. My spirit is free from the corruption of this place. I feel at peace. I can only hope that I am not drawn once again into the corruption."
Lord Cynreft Mhoire tells you, "I can only assume I have you to thank for this brief respite. Take this key. It will open a hidden cache of royal treasure hidden in the graveyard. Search for it."
Lord Cynreft Mhoire gives you Lord Cynreft Mhoire's Key.
Lord Cynreft Mhoire tells you, "Again I thank you for what you have obviously done."
Lord Cynreft Mhoire bestows to you the title "Hero of House Mhoire."
