Walk Through

1. Speak to Talira Dain and Dalius Kendmar of Candeth Keep for initial details.
2. Head west to the Sclavus Temple at 82.5S, 75.0W - ACMaps
3. Head down in the temple. You will reach a larger room with two stone heads and some altars. Pick the door on the western end of the room (resistance 525)
4. From here, you can head west, which will lead you to a room with the Book of Memories.
5. If you have no need for the book, head south to the boss chamber.
6. In the boss chamber, clear the sclavus.
7. Destroy the Sarcophagus (20,000 estimated HP).
8. When the Sarcophagus is destroyed, Sister Vitriaka spawns, along with 30+ Sclavus Lords.
9. Kill Sister Vitriaka and the Sclavus. Loot the Scrap of Paper from Sister Vitriaka.
10. Pull the torch labeled on the map for access to the hidden room off the boss chamber, where you will find the Falatacot Tome (timer to pick up: 14 days).
11. Bring the Falatacot Tome to Fanzen San the Translator in Hebian-To.
12. Give the Book of Memories to Talira Dain & A Poorly Translated Journal to Dalius Kendmar. If you give them the incorrect book, they keep it and you cannot receive the reward.

Speaking with Talira Dain:
Talira Dain tells you, "Maybe you have heard of my husband, Gareth Dain?"
Talira Dain tells you, "He hunted these lands looking for treasure and glory, but three years ago he failed to return home. I could find nothing else to explain his disappearance, then one year ago a warrior told me that he had seen Gareth shortly before he went missing. The man said that Gareth had been fighting a group of Sclavus in the crater hills somewhere around here."
Talira Dain tells you, "I moved to Candeth Keep with the hope that I could find clues to tell me what had happened to Gareth. Recently my husband's dear friend Dalius found a Temple in a crater west of here."
Talira Dain tells you, "He says that the crater was filled with a howling sandstorm. He bravely fought his way to the eye of the storm to find a Temple protected by Sclavus. I am sure that this must be the same temple that my husband was last seen at."
Talira Dain tells you, "Please, go and find out what happened to my husband. I just need to know what really happened."

Speaking with Dalius Kendmar:
Dalius Kendmar tells you, "Hello friend, did Lady Dain ask you to speak with me?"
Dalius Kendmar tells you, "I must ask a favor of you. I recently discovered something while searching for my long lost friend Gareth Dain."
Dalius Kendmar tells you, "I was exploring the wastelands west of here when a giant sandstorm blew in out of nowhere. It stung my face and made it almost impossible to breathe, but I forced my way onward. I eventually came to a calm at the center of the storm where I found an ancient temple. When I approached the structure a great number of Sclavus sprung from the sands and attacked, forcing me to retreat."
Dalius Kendmar tells you, "I have told Lady Dain what I discovered and we believe that this is the very Sclavus Temple that Gareth was last seen at. I do not however hold her belief that her husband still lives. She has obsessed over his disappearance for three years now and I dearly wish to see her mourning end."
Dalius Kendmar tells you, "Do her a noble deed and find proof of her husband's death. I am sure that my friend Gareth would have come back if humanly possible, so I know him to be dead. I ask of you to be sure that you bring only proof of his death, she has suffered enough and I could not bear to see her suffering continue. Do this for me and I will reward you."

Speaking with them again: Dalius Kendmar tells you, "I have told you of the temple to the west. Search for a great sandstorm and find it's eye." Dalius Kendmar tells you, "Lady Dain may be able to tell you something of use, but I warn you not to cause her undo stress." Talira Dain tells you, "I've told you everything I know about my husbands disappearance. Ask Dalius if he knows more about the Sclavus Temple he found."

Speaking with the Strange Sclavus:
Strange Sclavus tells you, "I can no longer cry for what I have lost. My sorrow knows no release."

Strange Sclavus shakes it's head and stares through you.

Strange Sclavus tells you, "I have to hide. I mustn't be ssseen."

Strange Sclavus tells you, "Leave me alone!"

Strange Sclavus tells you, "Don't look at me. I am hideoussss!"

Strange Sclavus tells you, "We can't let you leave you know. She wouldn't be happy with ussss."

Upon destruction of the Sarcophagus:
The sarcophagus cracks and it's stone crumbles to the floor. A figure rises from the debris.
Sister Vitriaka says, "Ek, taivti Tik Vaiktu Kiktij tiu ikni arkvikt."

Dalius Kendmar glares at you with distaste. Dalius Kendmar tells you, "You had to tell her." Dalius Kendmar tells you, "What good did you do her by telling her that her husband is now some hideous freak? I asked you to do a simple task and put my Lady's mind at peace, but you just had to go and ruin everything!" Dalius Kendmar's eyes suddenly loose their ferocity and he straightens up. Dalius Kendmar tells you, "Well, what's done is done. Take your little magic staff and leave us. I have to comfort Talira. I'll make it all right."
