Quest Overview

Quest to obtain one of Lady Maila's elemental stones (also known as Atlan Stones). The stones can be used to upgrade various weapons and armor:

The minor stone is weaker than the major stone and therefore much easier to obtain.

Walk Through

The Major Shivering Stone

  1. [Optional] Purchase the rumor Duplicated Portals from various shopkeepers.
  2. Head to the Serac Vault at 75.9S, 29.0E, the duplicate portal can be found at 59.9S, 55.0E.
    • Route: From the Town Network, take the Annex (south) wing to the Linvak Tukal. From there go outside the walls using a nearby portal and then run to 75.9S, 29.0E.
  3. From the vault entrance room, go straight ahead into the east passage and hug the right wall. At the end you should come to a ledge looking into a large room with rock formations, jump down and head east into the passage behind the rock.
  4. At the end of the passage you will come out onto a catwalk back in the first area. Follow the path around to a ledge and jump across to the north catwalk.
  5. Now follow it west ignoring the bridge to the north and at the end shift jump across west to the catwalk. From here, follow the path north to the final area.
  6. You should now see a lever on the wall to your right. Pause for a moment and use your bracket keys to search for more levers. You should pick up two more levers to your left across the gap, the passage with the levers is blocked by metal grating. One of these levers opens the wooden door to the north and to the room with the stone.
  7. The wall lever to your right opens the door to the area behind the grating. Once you pull it, you need to run back along the path you just came from and it will lead to that area.
  8. Once you have pulled the lever on the left wall behind the grating (other lever closes the metal door here), run back one last time and jump across into the room for the Major Shivering Stone and a number of lore texts.

The Minor Shivering Stone

  1. [Optional] Purchase the rumor, A Shivering Stone, from Magrom the Red, Barkeeper in Cragstone at 25.7N, 48.8E. The rumor directs you to find an igloo located at 42.7N, 49.8E.
  2. To get to the igloo quickly, start in Holtburg and take the Holtburg Wilderness Settlement portal from Holtburg at 40.2N, 35.1E, this will drop you only a short run from the igloo at 42.7N, 49.8E.
  3. Once there you will see it is surrounded by 8 Glacial Golems, you can run right past them into the cave where you will find the Minor Shivering Stone, you will also see a Textbook which you can take if you wish.
  4. Optionally you can take the Textbook to Bretself the Translator in Cragstone for translation at 26.0N, 47.0E. The textbook translates to Atlan's Treatise.

Lore & Dialog

Town Crier tells you, "News! Explorers searching the most remote areas of Dereth have discovered several new underground complexes, apparently dating back to the Empyrean Age of Lore. Rumors that these may be storehouses for archaic weapons are crossing the length and breadth of the land."

You give Bretself the Translator Elaborate Scroll.
Bretself the Translator tells you, "How disturbing. This scroll tells the tale of a terrible defeat suffered by the great Empyrean - and perhaps something more terrible still to she who received it so long ago..
Bretself the Translator gives you Imperial Missive.

You give Agent of the Arcanum Major Shivering Stone.
Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "These crystals have many alchemical uses. Ciandra has continued to research what allows these stones to tap into this worlds well of powerful magics."
Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "Here, take this as a reward."
Agent of the Arcanum gives you Writ of Refuge.

Handing in 2 minor stones to an Agent of the Arcanum
You give Agent of the Arcanum Minor Shivering Stone.
Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "These elemental stones have wonderful properties. The minor ones aren't quite as useful as the major stones, but I can reward you a writ if you bring me another minor stone."

You give Agent of the Arcanum Minor Sparking Stone.
Agent of the Arcanum tells you, "Excellent, the second minor stone! We hope to tap those energies for other uses. Here, take this as a reward."
Agent of the Arcanum gives you Writ of Refuge.
