Quest Overview
Walk Through
- Talk to Hoshar ibn Jalaq in Ayan Baqur.
- Kill the Mukkir Progenitor on Dark Isle (86.5N, 57.3E).
- Loot a Progenitor's Ichor.
- Give the ichor to Hoshar to get an Abyssal Gateway Token.
- Hand the token to the Abyssal Totem Gateway (86.5N, 57.3E) to summon a portal into the Abyssal Totem Temple.
- Enter the dungeon.
- Attack the Abyssal Totem at the end of the dungeon. If you die in the dungeon just use the totem gateway to be instantly portalled back into the temple.
- Loot a Shard of the Abyssal Totem.
- Give the shard to Hoshar.
This quest is solo-able for a ranged toon. When nearing the final room, there is a small spot within the columns. In this confined space, Mukkir will not attack you. You can attack the Abyssal Totem. Although it will initially cause Mukkirs to attack you, you can let them attack you. Just wait and heal until they find their way back to spawn point. Then you can simply attack the Abyssal Totem, although patience is required since it has 50k health. As the seasoned warrior know's, Mukkirs are not to be handled lightly, especially alone. I completed this alone with a level 217 mage.

Hoshar ibn Jalaq tells you, "You may be able to help me... I would ask you to seek out a powerful Mukkir known only as the Progenitor. Its ichor has some unique properties, and may be of great use to us in our efforts to combat the demon known as Grael. If you are strong enough to fight mighty Mukkir, venture to 86.4 N, 57.4 E on the Dark Isle, and bring me the ichor of the Progenitor."
You give Hoshar ibn Jalaq Progenitor's Ichor.
Hoshar ibn Jalaq tells you, "Well done. The Ichor of Hastar the Misbegotten is indeed helpful. It allows me to make this token, which will gain you entrance to the chambers of Grael's Abyssal Totem. Simply give this Gateway Token to the Abyssal Totem Gateway on the Dark Isle, and a portal should open up for you. Once you have gained access to the Abyssal Totem Temple, destroy the Abyssal Totem, and that will help split Grael's power..."
Hoshar ibn Jalaq gives you Abyssal Gateway Token.
You give Abyssal Totem Gateway Abyssal Gateway Token.
The Gateway of the Abyssal Totem seems to approve of the token you have presented to it and opens the way for you...
The Gateway of the Abyssal Totem seems to sense your presence and recognizes you. It teleports you into the Temple of the Abyssal Totem...
You give Hoshar ibn Jalaq Shard of the Abyssal Totem.
Hoshar ibn Jalaq tells you, "Excellent! This means that Grael's power has been dealt a serious blow! The shattering of the Abyssal Totem temporarily split his avatar. I will get this to our mages, who might be able to work the proper rituals of sympathetic magic to keep Grael's spirit sundered. You have done the realm of Dereth a great service, friend."
You've earned 224,034,451 experience. (Level 270)
Hoshar ibn Jalaq gives you Helm of the Abyssal Totem.
