Town Crier Rumors

Viamontian Town Criers

Town Crier tells you, "Be wary of freak storm clouds while traveling through the Bloodless lands. Reports of Shadows congregating around these strange weather patterns have all but been silenced by reason."

Town Crier tells you, "Through the noble efforts of Viamontian Champions, and the occasional presence of Bloodless dogs, the Dark Isle has been dredged up from the depths of the sea!"

Town Crier tells you, "There is a new organization called the Pathwardens who have made it their task to outfit new arrivals in Dereth. They claim neutrality, but I have my doubts."

Town Crier tells you, "It seems that there are strange new creatures to be found on this Dark Isle that rose from the depths in the sea far to the east..."

Town Crier tells you, "There are reports from the Bloodless lands that one of their "Shadows" is granting those who are powerful enough access to the Isle where Grael once slept."

Town Crier tells you, "A warning to you. Unless you are looking to fight, be careful when visiting Sanamar. Some Shadows have been seen spying there from the bluffs west of town. The King is waiting to see what actions if any they are planning."

Town Crier tells you, "Another Bloodless dog. Maybe you know something about what has happened to Count Dardante, hm? All your kind are under suspicion."

Town Crier tells you, "There is a new organization called the Pathwardens who have made it their task to outfit new arrivals in Dereth. They claim neutrality, but I have my doubts."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear that Grael did something terrible to Asheron in his own house. I don't respect that bumbling Isparian wizard, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with him gone."

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen the beautiful suits of Relic Armor that His Majesty's agents have been distributing to worthy warriors?"

Town Crier tells you, "The typical Hysterics of the Bloodless are in full swing as they declare some apocalyptic war coming. I'm sure that they overstate matters and whatever has caused these recent meteorological aberrations will be explained in due course."

Town Crier tells you, "There is a Shadow, sent by that strange voice heard last month, north of "Bandit Castle". This creature is sending those powerful enough to gain entry to the Dark Isle of the Mukkir, Grael."

Town Crier tells you, "One of my informants tells me that some crazy elemental is crying nonsense in the Bloodless town of Eastham. They really should keep those things out of town."

Town Crier tells you, "You're one of those Bloodless dogs. Maybe even a member of that treacherous Raven Hand. What have you done with Count Dardante? What did you do to him?"

Town Crier tells you, "Those who set to shattering the Soul Crystal that held the Dark Isle beneath the waves last month are now capable of seeing the fruits of their labors. The Dark Isle has risen between Vissidal Isle and Aerlinthe Isle. Perhaps there is even more there that can be recovered than there was on Vissidal Isle..."

Town Crier tells you, "A dark vortex has been reported near the dark remains on the Isle of Ruin. Our Knights have reported disturbing whispers and shadows that dance out of range before they can be properly seen."

Town Crier tells you, "We have reports of a strange new creature to be found on that perilous Dark Isle. It appears to be another mollusk like the Niffis, but twisted with dark magic."

Town Crier tells you, "If you are new to Dereth, you may wish to speak with this Pathwarden who has appeared in Sanamar. It appears that this organization wishes to equip all newcomers with suits of armor."

Town Crier tells you, "The King has offered a mighty reward to those who can battle the creatures of the Dark Isle and claim their trophies: a full suit of powerfully enchanted Relic Armor."

Town Crier tells you, "This pyreal appears to be stamped with the Bloodless Queen's royal mark. Well, the pyreal it's made of is appreciated at least."

Town Crier tells you, "We have unconfirmed reports that the Chief Advisor to the Crown, Count Dardante, has gone missing."

The town crier looks around to ensure no one is within earshot.

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard rumors that Count Dardante may have been mixed up in some dealings with the Raven Hand. If they killed him, the Raven Hand may have bought themselves a good deal more trouble from our King than they were expecting."

Mainland Town Criers

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen those new suits of Relic Armor? If I weren't depending on my job as a Town Crier for my retirement plan, I would be out adventuring to get one of those for myself!"

Town Crier tells you, "I hear tell there is some strange and terrible creature, never before seen by Isparian eyes, on that Dark Isle..."

Town Crier tells you, "I hear the Emissary of Asheron in Eastham is distraught about something."

Town Crier tells you, "There's a rumor that Grael has done something terrible to Asheron! Or, at least has done something to Asheron's Island! Oh no, this isn't good..."

Town Crier tells you, "I've heard rumors of a Shadow in the north, setting people on the path to access the Dark Isle that has risen from the sea."

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen those foul new beasts that infest the shores of the Dark Isle? Truly disgusting!"

Town Crier tells you, "New arrivals to Dereth can obtain a nice suit of armor from the Pathwardens, who are stationed in Holtburg, Yaraq, Shoushi, and Sanamar. They'll also accept the suits of armor back when you've outgrown them, and will give you useful items in exchange."

Town Crier tells you, "After the shattering of that mysterious crystal, the Dark Isle raised itself from the bottom of the sea. I hear it can be seen from Vissidal Isle and from Aerlinthe."

Town Crier tells you, "There is a Shadow, sent by Isin Dule, near the portal to the Temple of N'cthail, north of Bandit Castle. I guess Isin Dule is keeping his word about the Isle. He's so unusual, for a Shadow..."

Town Crier tells you, "Queen Elysa has verified what we all suspected: a recent rise in Shadow activity. Eyewitnesses have reported seeing shadowy pools appearing outside of towns. She has requested that you report any odd activity or shadow sightings to the Shadow Hunters in Wai Jhou. She assures everyone that the Arcanum and the Royal Guard are taking this new possible threat seriously and are investigating the matter.

Town Crier tells you, "I have to say, while the Falatacot and Viamontian suits of Relic armor are very imposing, the Noble Relic Armor is very aptly named."

Town Crier tells you, "It appears a new benevolent order, named the Pathfinders, has dedicated itself to providing for new arrivals to Dereth."

Town Crier tells you, "I've been receiving a lot of reports of Shadows around towns. Keep your eyes out for them."

Town Crier tells you, "News! An island has risen from the depths of the sea near Vissidal Island!"

Town Crier tells you, "Dark storm clouds have been seen sweeping across the Direlands of late. You better wear your waterproof clothing when you go adventuring."

Town Crier tells you, "Have you seen those new suits of Relic Armor? If I weren't depending on my job as a Town Crier for my retirement plan, I would be out adventuring to get one of those for myself!"

Town Crier tells you, "The weather is beginning to unnerve me. Do you think the solar eclipse is a bad omen? It sure looks like one."

Ulgrim Rumors

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "They say that Grael has three aspects: ale, lager, and stout. No, wait, that's not right..."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "With all of these new islands coming up all of the time, I've begun my quest to find the Ale Crystal, so I may consume it, and raise the Isle of Stout... Mmmmmm... Stout..."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Where is Asheron? He's always shown up to every shindig the Shadows have thrown before. I expect he wants to be fashionably late."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard that Asheron beat Grael at a game of Yanshi Hold 'Em. He had a full house." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No wait, that doesn't sound right." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard that Grael gave Asheron a free trip to the Halaetan Islands, all expenses paid."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Hmmm... I know it was Grael, Asheron, trip and house. You figure it out!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Grael can go ride a Sleech for all I care. Just because some waterlogged bug puppet with a pointy stick flops up on our shores doesn't make me scared."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Those Pathwardens are nice folk, to be giving away all that expensive armor for new arrivals. When I was a new arrival here, do you know what I got? A poke in the eye from an Olthoi pincer!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Ummm, isn't it about time for the animals to stop making more baby animals? I mean, sure, they're cute and all, but someone should teach these critters about abstinence."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "So, another isle has been raised from the bottom of the sea. Don't you people have enough to do without ruining the view on all of those coastal properties?!? They were expensive you know!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Well, I guess there might be supplies for even stronger draughts of Dark Ale there, so it may not be a complete loss..."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "There's nothing I like more than a fine summer rain interspersed with Shadows and creatures from the dark depths attempting to steal my life's blood." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Ahhh!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I've got my own suit of Relic Armor, you know. It's made from highly magical beer mugs that date back to the dawn of the Roulean Empire."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Where is Asheron? He's always shown up to every shindig the Shadows have thrown before. I expect he wants to be fashionably late."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Some monsters get stronger, some monsters get weaker. Just remember what ol' Ulgrim says when the health is down, fire is raining from the sky and monsters are clawing at his throat." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Strong...weak. I'm the one with the wand."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I hear that several high ranking members of the Order of the Tome have been attempting to limit the news that our Town Criers are allowed to cry. All in order to sell more books. I demand Crier Neultrality! Freedom to shout whatever stupid words we want to!" Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Barble Hoggenda Floopdi!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Those Pathwardens are nice folk, to be giving away all that expensive armor for new arrivals. When I was a new arrival here, do you know what I got? A poke in the eye from an Olthoi pincer!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I don't think we'll be seeing much of Count Dardante any more. Well, we will, but we won't. That makes sense, when you think about it."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I saw a cute little Ursuin Cub the other day. I tried to pat it on the head. Cute little teeth on that cub. See my cute little bite mark?"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard about those crystals that the Black Knight and Dardante were sending people out to get. Sounds like fun! I would have gone hunting too, except that old Berkholt had one of his kegs burst, and I had to help him keep all the stout from drying up. That was some hard work!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Keep an eye out for dark storm clouds in the skies. Some friends of mine..." Ulgrim glances at you, as if daring you to speak. Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Ahem! Some friends of mine have said a horde of Shadows appeared in one of the storms and nearly killed their party." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "They say that's why they lost all the stout they were bringing for me. Such a tragic story."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard that Asheron beat Grael at a game of Yanshi Hold 'Em. He had a full house." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No wait, that doesn't sound right." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I heard that Grael gave Asheron a free trip to the Halaetan Islands, all expenses paid." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Hmmm... I know it was Grael, Asheron, trip and house. You figure it out!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I hear Banderlings and Drudges have started a game called Skullball. They kick a human skull around a field attempting to kick it into a Carenzi Mound. I'm thinking the Banderling Brawlers have a slightly better chance of winning the Skull Cup against the Drudges Dancers this year. I can't wait to see the game! I always bring extra stout and sausages to these events."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I kept telling Elysa we should cover up those Spire Holes. "Cover up those Spire Holes," I said. But did she listen? Nope, nobody listens to old Ulgrim." Ulgrim sighs. Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No great thinker is ever appreciated within their own time."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "You know I'm glad my duplicates are gone, but I've been thinking of the glorious things we could have accomplished." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "We could have formed an Fellowship of Ulgrim, roaming the land looking for people to save and drinks to be drunk." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "We could have tried out a few of the group spells I've been dabbling with." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "We could have gone on fishing trips." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "...I miss those guys."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I've drunk things you people wouldn't believe." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Burning Mana Blasts off the coast of the Caul." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "I've watched pint glasses glitter in the ephemeral light of portal space." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "All these memories will be lost, like stout from a keg..." Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Time to drink."

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "Grael better not attack my house! I have a secret defense system." Ulgrim looks around to make sure no one is eavesdropping. He gestures rudely at the Jeweler. Ulgrim the Unpleasant says, "Oy! Mind your own business Daryam!" Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "If a Shadow sets foot on my island he will be assaulted by an elite force of Keg Golems. Those shadows would be in for a delicious, foamy death. Too good for 'em!"

Ulgrim the Unpleasant tells you, "No, I'm serious about the three aspects of Grael. Maiden, Mother, Crone? Was that it? No, not that either. I bet more stout will help me remember."
