I like the Object category for any item we can ID but not pick up. Like the jojii shrines, the items from the font of jojii quest, and so on. I guess wells and fonts could go in this category too. Looking at the categories, theres not much I can think of that we need. All armor, weapons, and jewelry are covered. Crafting items are covered by their craft tag. Looking at the categories, theres not much I can think of that we need. All armor, weapons, and jewelry are covered. Crafting items are covered by their craft tag. Here's all the misc item categories:

  • Category:Item
    • Category:Augmentation
    • Category:Container
    • Category:Housing Item
    • Category:Magic Item
    • Category:Pack Doll
    • Category:Pet
    • Category:Rare
    • Category:Trophy
  • Category:Consumable Item
    • Category:Food (Example: Rations, beers)
    • Category:Gem (Example: craftable Alchemy gems, dispel gems)
    • Category:Healing Kit
    • Category:Key
    • Category:Lockpick
    • Category:Mana Stone
    • Category:Portal Gem (Includes anything that summons a portal or casts a recall on the player, regardless of whether or not it is a "gem")
    • Category:Potion (All health/stam/mana potions and dispel potions)
    • Category:Scroll
    • Category:Spell Component
      • Category:Pea

Object is a good addition to this list. Maybe Alternative Currency? So society tokens, venom sacs, hero tokens, colo coins, GY coins, dark tusker paws, and anything else that can be used instead of pyreals at special shops. Or maybe just Currency in general. So it would include all of those, pyreal, and all the trade notes.

How about Quest Item? As in, an item that is only gained and used as part of a quest and has no other function. Like the gems from Claude's mind, or the various items from the Font of Jojii quest, or the medallions from the tanada quests.

Title Token category? Maybe this isn't needed though, since they have stopped using them for all new quests.

How about as subcategories of trophy, we have Leather Crafter Item/Trophy, Collector, Stone Collector, etc.

I agree, the Item category is ripe for some additional subcategories, it's so huge that it's kind of become a catchall when something needs some sort of categorization. An Adventurer will have some good input I'm sure, he's done a lot of the work on developing new categories. --Tlosk 19:17, 11 September 2008 (CDT)

I think we should consider recategorizing many of the items in this list, items such as Smooth Rocks for example could be tagged as [[Category:Object]] which would separate items located in dungeons that cannot actually be obtained but are usable or readable. This would apply to numerous items in this list which are not so much items as usable objects on the landscape or in dungeons. --Sanguis 13:19, 11 September 2008 (CDT)
