Castle of Lord Mhoire Quest

Rough Notes:

  1. Use Ancient Stonesat 66.5S 44.7W, lore item can be translated in zaikhal.
  2. Use Strange Jewel near SW bunker of the five near GY Colo building at 65.0S 44.2W to spawn Lady Saliane who spawns inside bunker. Kill for 3 items (1 per person).
  3. Use Strange Jewel near edge of graveyard SW of the pyre oak chest at 66.6S 45.2W to spawn Lord Hendrel in the open. Kill for 2nd item.
  4. Use Strange Jewel under floating castle at 65.1S 45.5W to spawn Lord Trimere in the open for final, 3rd item.
  5. Hand all three items to the right gargoyle statue that normally starts the GY colo (Lord Mhoire), we tried left one and didn't work, though it might.
  6. A blue portal will briefly open to the right that only the person that handed the three items can enter.
  7. Go to NE corner of platform and find portal to tower.


Order changes each time you talk and is unique to each person that talks:

Your Mhoire Defender's mark burn with blue flame, and the eyes on this ancient statue burn with that same flame.
You hear a whisper in your head that says "Your test has begun."
Burning letters appear at the base of the statue that read:

Translation, the 4 middle lines change order whenever you use the Guardian of Mhoire statue.:
Succeed when you decipher lore.
Each guard in order is your chore.

The first touch winds where falcons soar.
The next hear crashing waves on shore.
The third seek dancing flames that roar.
The last find strongest mountain core.

Banishment for a choice most poor.
Success and then I mark the door.


As you disturb the statue its eyes burn with flame. It's voice whispers in your head.
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "As Lord Cynreft Mhoire looked for eight virtues in his knights, so will you seek purity in the flames of those virtues."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "To pass this test, you must purify the Sword of Virtue eight times before the sword crumbles to dust."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "The sword must be purified only in the flames specified by the test. It will bear no flame out of order."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "As you purify the sword in each flame, you will hear the name of a virtue where you must bring the sword next."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "Bring the purified sword back to me before it crumbles in five minutes."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "You have five minutes before the sword turns to dust."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "Burn the corruption from the sword until it is pure and return it to me."
Purify the Sword of Virtue in the Flames of Humility.


South east tower:

Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "Knights in the service of Lord Mhoire must be prepared to face death at any time."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "To pass this test, you must bear the Sword of Courage while you gather blue flame."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "Destroy the elementals and gather ten blue flames. Return them to me before the sword crumbles in five minutes."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "You have five minutes before the sword turns to dust."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "Gather blue flame from the elementals before you and bring ten to me."
Guardian of Mhoire tells you, "As you touch the flames they will crystallize and you may gather them."


Directions to each test:

Test 1 - Flames of Courage

From the drop, stick left until you reach a large room; take the SE corner door then stick left into through to another large room; take the NW door then stick left to the first test.

This test requires you to talk to the Guardian of Mhoire Statue in the middle of a room filled with Flame Guardian creatures and insta-kill flaming skulls. Watch the patterns or pop a Flame Protection rare. Talk to the statue to receive a Sword of Courage, then kill Flame Guardians, when they die their corpse becomes usable for 1-3 seconds. Use their corpse (it'll be a yellow dot like an NPC) to receive a flame. Collect 10 then talk to the Guardian of Mhoire Statue to finish.


Test 2 - Rite of Wisdom

From the drop, stick left to a large room and take the NW door then stick left through to another large room; take the SE door and stick left to the next test.

This test requires you to talk to the Guardian of Mhoire statue who will send you a block of green text similar to the following:

The middle 4 lines are the important part. Their order is random and dictates which statues to use first. Above is a full translation so I'll just give a quick way to reason it out:

  1. DTLN = Air
  2. DBTNK = Water
  3. NTLN = Flame
  4. ZTNK = Earth

Use them in order (out of order will portal you to the drop) then talk to the Guardian of Mhoire statue to complete this task.

BUG = The riddle that tells you the order of Air, Water, Flame, then Earth is bugged and upon using the third statue will send you back to the start. If you get this riddle then use the statue again until you get a new one.


Test 3 - Flames of Virtue

From the drop, stick left to a large room and take the NW door. From here, stick left to another large room; use the SW door then stick left to another large room. In here simply take the NE door and stick left to the third test.

This room brings back the insta-kill skulls (flame rare helps). Talk to the Guardian of Mhoire statue to receive a Sword of Virtue and a green message dictating which flame to drop it in. The above map shows the names and locations of the flames. When you drop it into a flame you'll receive a green message telling you where next to drop it. If you give it ot the wrong one or hand it in twice on accident (sometimes it'll tell you to drop it in one again, that's fine) then talk to the statue to get a new one. Eventually you'll get a message saying to bring it back to the statue; do that and you'll pass the final test.


Cleansing the Throne

Talk to the Shade of Antemy at the drop to flag for the Grand Hall portal across the room from him. Head inside and you'll be in a series of rooms with various doors. Take the following:

  1. SE
  2. E
  3. NE
  4. NW
  5. North (Killable Door)
  6. NW
  7. South, 2x (Killable Doors, one after another)

You'll now be in the Mhoire Throne Room. Each person with you -must- use the Throne. The Shade of Lord Rytheran (Undead, weak to fire/acid) will spawn along with numerous GY creatures. When he dies, he may drop some GY coins and will always drop 9 green rings. Take this ring to the Shade of Antemy (talk to him, don't hand him it) to receive your rewards:

  1. Champion of House Mhoire title
  2. 50% xp towards your next level (no cap)
  3. 2 GY coins
  4. 5-pull Mhoire Treasurey Chest Key (misc. MFK loot). One of the chests is found on the path from the killable door in the Throne Room on the South wall (stick left to get to it). There is a 2nd past the throne room through a killable door.

Mhoire Treasury Chests always drop at least 2 level 8 spell components, as well as MFK type loot.
