The Order of the Hieromancers was founded by Yalaini Empress Alaidain at the end of the Millennium War between Dericost on one side and the Yalaini and Haebrous on the other side. The Order constituted an elite cadre of battle mages to serve as her personal guard and household company. The first Matriarch of the Order was Kerelinas.[1]
War Magic is the chosen path of the Order. Aspirant members underwent a harsh training at the Ishilai Lyceum.

During the Third Sending of Darkness, the Order failed to defend Caerlin I when the Yalaini forces retreated from Haebrous and Caerlin was cursed by the Soulburn Plague inflicted upon him by Omadin. The Order was ordered to defend Tentael after the rest of the Yalaini had fled to Ireth Lassel.[1]

During the Third Sending of Darkness, the Order was often detached from their duties guarding the Palace to assist the efforts of the Council of Five. Lord Kerenth Portenaer of Atermore, a member of the Council, was himself promoted to his position from a humble Exarch of the Order. During the invasion of Tentael by the shadow forces of Ilservian Palacost, Black Ferah killed the Patriarch at that time, Taancraiti Omair and his wife Aleth.[1]

Ever since Emperor Keldin II converted to the Northern Church, members had to swear to follow Nali Athanas' Rule of Life.[1]

Members of The Order of Perfect Light were to be recruited from the ranks of the Order of Heiromancers and of the Medi.[2]

One can still become a member of the Order of the Heiromancers and obtain their armor by doing the Hieromancer's Armor quest, starting in the old Ishilai Lyceum.
