Quest Overview

After proving your skill in the Ninja Academy, the Spectral Nanjou assign you the task of infiltrating the enemy Tanada training facility.

You must have completed the Ninja Academy at least once to start this quest. This quest (completion of both tasks at least once) is a prerequisite for the Nanjou Stockade quest.

Walk Through

1. Speak to Kousha and Kinchou, NPCs in Hoshino Town #3. They are side by side on the second floor of a house. Note the house is not safe, and creatures spawn on both floors.
   • Route: Stonehold to Desolation Beach Settlement (69.7N, 20.2W), then run to 78.4N 40.5W.
   • Kinchou gives you the task of intercepting coded messages of the Tanada, while Kousha gives you the task of killing 6 Tanada Neophytes and retrieving their masks.
2. Go to the Tanada Toresen Temple.
   • Route: Hebian-To to South Shoushi Villas (41.5S, 82.1E), then run to 42.5S, 72.3E.
   • The drop is safe.

Tanada Slaughter

1. Near the drop is an NPC (?), who tells you that he knows why you are here. He offers to give a better reward than Kousha for the 6 mask collected if you will return them to him.
2. Find and kill 6 Tanada Neophytes and loot their masks. Everyone in the fellow needs their own 6 kills and 6 masks.
   • Note: The Gunjin (?) and Trainers (?) guarding the Tanada Neophytes hit extremely hard. It is advisable you fight in the narrow hallways, using some members of the fellow as a wall while the rest kill then switching roles. You may also want to assign a dedicated healer.
   • Note 2: The temple is quite large in size and there are lots of rooms with many Tanada.
3. Warning: After completing the kill task and mask collection, you can choose to turn in the masks to the NPC at the dungeon drop for an extra Legendary Key. However, this does not flag you to complete the next quest in the series, Nanjou Stockade.
   • This NPC was added during the Balance of Power event, and is currently bugged?

Tanada Intercept

1. Once you have completed the mask collection and kill task, make your way to a room with an opening into a pit. You will see frost wave traps down below. Do not jump below, but instead on a wooden ledge across from the opening in the wall.
2. Jump your way across using the wooden ledges. Most are 1/2 or 2/3 shift jumps. If you fall, you can run back up and try again but beware of the traps below.
3. From the final ledge, jump down into a small room.
4. Ahead is a room with a boss (?) and 2 more Tananda Gunjin. Kill the boss and loot a book and a Legendary Key from him (he drops 9 of each). Use the key on the nearby chests.

Rewards

1. Go back to the Kinchou and Kousha in Hoshino Town and turn in the book and masks.
2. Turning in both items flags you for the next quest in the series, Nanjou Stockade.

• During the Balance of Power event, the key reward was changed from a Mana Forge Key to a Legendary Key. The NPC for an extra Legendary Key was also added to the temple dungeon.
