A defending force of Empyrean (Yalaini) , serving Asheron and trained to defend the Halls of Knorr and the Lyceum.^[1] ^[2]

Members were recruited from the ranks of the Order of Heiromancers and of the Medi; they were supposed to be masters of all paths and marshalled for the purpose of maintaining order where corruption would attempt to gain footholds.^[1]

To join the Order of Perfect Light one needed to become an adept of each of the fourteen spheres of magic. First, they would be ushered to the level of Defender of the Light and attain the rank of Initiate. They were chosen by Asheron or by the others who hold tenure over courses offered at Knorr and held to an oath of trust.^[1] Rites indoctrinated any who advanced beyond the rank of Initiate, and were able to alter the the Hieromancer's Armor with an orb that radiates pure light. They were trained in the truths passed from Adja and Maila and trusted with the knowledge of the corruption that bleeds into all aspects of Yalaini society. ^[1]

When the Olthoi invaded, they were the last ones standing and trying to prevent the breakthrough.^[3]
