Walk Through
Prior to doing this quest, at least one person of the group must complete the Grave Rat hunter quest to obtain Lo Shoen's Rat Bait.
The Grave Rat hunter quest is only active starting at Dawnsong and ending at Evensong (see Time for more information).
Gather your group and give the Lo Shoen's Rat Bait to one of the Rat Burrows. This will spawn Deathtail, a bunch of Grave Rats and Blood Curse Rats.
When Deathtail is defeated, his body will contain from 0 to 5 Mhoire Coins and 9 Deathtail Fangs. Each member of party should loot a fang.
Take fang to Lo Shoen and turn in for a Mhoire Coin, XP and a title.
Special Note
There is no lower level limit on picking up a fang. A group of high level adventurers can kill Deathtail and allow lower level adventurers to pick up the fang.
This is a good way for an allegiance to provide extra xp to mid-level adventurers.
History
This quest was introduced in the Dark Materials patch. When it first came out, it was bugged, and was returning 2000% experience capped at 100 million. The design was supposed to be 20%.
As part of the Masked Memories patch, the bug was fixed, and the design changed to 50% to keep it's usefulness as an allegiance quest.
