Type: Solo/Group

Quest Overview

  • You must have done the Knorr Quiddity Seed Quest Quest before doing this quest in order to have the Quiddity Ingot (Knorr) you need for this quest. The Knorr Ingot is the one that says it "glows with a soft white light" in its description. You must use that ingot and not the ingots from the other two Quiddity Seed quests.
  • The Purified Quiddity Ingot obtained from this quest was originally used in the Aerbax's Citadel quest when it first went live. These days the Purified Ingot has no known use.

Walk Through

  1. Required Prior Quest: Do the Knorr Quiddity Seed Quest Quest and have the Quiddity Ingot you receive from that quest with you for the next steps.
  2. Go to Xi Ru's Island.
  3. Run to the Roots of the Deru Tree dungeon at 90.3S, 87.3E beneath the waterfall behind Xi Ru's Chapel.
  4. The dungeon is a hallway wrapped around one large main room. The Drop point puts you in the hallway which wraps around the room first going up then down, until you reach the large room. There are many windows in the hallway which allow you to see into the main room but they are blocked by roots. At the end of the dungeon you will find the Pool of Water.
  5. Hand the Knorr Quiddity Ingot to the Pool to receive xp and a Purified Knorr Quiddity Ingot.

Lore & Dialog

Letting Hoshino Kei examine your Knorr Quiddity Ingot:
You allow Hoshino Kei to examine your Quiddity Ingot.
Hoshino Kei tells you, "This ingot is attuned to the power of Light. The being it is most similar to is Asheron. To purify it, I would seek the font from which Asheron's powers spring forth. If you could find a primal vessel, something deep at the foundation of what we call the Deru Tree perhaps, that should suffice."
Hoshino Kei tells you, "The places where the Deru Trees are located do not tend to be as dangerous as some places on Dereth. I would advise seeking a vassal, perhaps, who might be willing to perform this task for you."

Using the Pool of Water:
You take a drink of cool water, and feel much healthier.
Pool of Water casts Heal Other I and restores 20 points of your health.

Giving the Purified Quiddity Ingot to the Gate Stones:
You give North Gate Stone Purified Quiddity Ingot.
You touch the stone with the Quiddity Ingot and it makes a simple clinking noise. The stone appears to be inactive.
