Quest Overview
This quest is the sixth quest in the Shadow Invasion Quest Chain. This quest can only be completed once per character.
There are 2 ways to complete this quest, with the only difference in rewards being the title awarded. Which title you choose is entirely optional and does not have any known impact/effect on the rest of the quest chain.
Completing this quest allows you to do the next quest in the series, Stop the Rebuilding, after a 20 hour timer expires.
Walk Through
Isin Dule's Task
- Speak to Isin Dule in Arwic to begin. He will direct you to investigate a new portal that has appeared in the town.
- Enter the Shadow Vortex nearby at 28.1S, 95.5E. It is a shadowy portal and must be clicked on to enter.
- Kill 5 of the 6 townsfolk (Bai-Nu Ru the Weaponsmith, Armorer Xao Fen, Rou Beh the Bowyer, Jeweler Lo Dai-Ou, Mi Chi the Barkeep, Healer Rili Sou) and 10 of the shadows. There is a kill task for each that will tell you how many you have killed.
- Return to Isin Dule and speak with him for your rewards and the title "Merciful Killer".
- After completing this quest, talking to Isin Dule will grant you a random title (see Shadow Invasion Quest Chain for more details).
Black Ferah's Task
- Flag with Black Ferah outside the Summoning Cave at 29.2S 95.8E.
- Enter the Shadow Vortex nearby at 28.1S, 95.5E. Note that this is the same portal as for Isin Dule's task, but will portal you to a different dungeon if you flagged with Black Ferah instead of Isin Dule.
- Kill 15 Soldiers inside the dungeon.
- Return to Black Ferah for your rewards and the title "Soul Siphon".
- After completing this quest, talking to Isin Dule will grant you a random title (see Shadow Invasion Quest Chain for more details).

Isin Dule tells you, "Something strange has happened to Tou-Tou. It has been blocked off by some sort of energy. I feel this will result in awful things. A dark portal has been spotted at the entrance to the town. Investigate this and return to me with what you discover."
Mi Chi the Barkeep says, "The pain... the darkness..."
Jeweler Lo Dai-Ou says, "I do not want to become one of those monsters. That is a fate worse than death."
Rou Beh stares off into the darkness with a vacant look in his eyes.
You have killed 1 Rou Beh the Bowyers! You must kill 5 to complete your task.
You have killed 10 Void Lords! Your task is complete!
Isin Dule tells you, "Those souls are better off having not been fully corrupted by the darkness. I only wish we could have acted sooner to prevent this."
Aiding Black Ferah
Black Ferah tells you, "You must rid Tou-Tou of Isin Dule's forces."
Black Ferah tells you, "It is not of your concern what is happening at Tou-Tou. You have one purpose for your sad life and that is to do what you are told."
You have killed 15 Soldiers! Your task is complete!
Completing Black Ferah's task
Black Ferah tells you, "Isin Dule's forces left with their tails between their legs."
Black Ferah tells you, "Ler Rhan will be pleased, the last phase of the plan is almost ready..."

Speaking to Isin Dule after completing Black Ferah's task
Isin Dule tells you, "The fact that you would show your face to me after helping the madness that enveloped and destroyed Tou-Tou proves the twisted type of being you are."

Notes
- Upon entering the Shadow Vortex, run into the first room on the left rather than contending with the entire spawn within the narrow hallway.
