Great. I think this means we will need a few different spell templates. Standard Spell Template For all basic player learned spells level 1-8 and S/O if applicable. Quest Spell Template for those spells that players can learn and we have full info such as comps and spell words. Spell Template/Unlearnable Spell Template for those spells that we only have the most basic info such as effect and possibly icon. --An Adventurer 11:59, 4 November 2008 (CST)

That's a wonderful idea that will make it a lot easier to get these up. --Tlosk 11:34, 4 November 2008 (CST)

I have an idea for listing and finding spells.

For each type of regular 1-8, S/O spell, we create a single page. All the variants of that spell will redirect to that page. Example:

Coordination (Spell)

<<Table with spell description, comps, etc, for all versions of the spell, 1-8, self and other>>

The following pages would then redirect to Coordination (Spell):

  • Coordination Other I
  • Coordination Other II
  • Coordination Other III
  • Coordination Other IV
  • Coordination Other V
  • Coordination Other VI
  • Boon of Refinement
  • Incantation of Coordination Other
  • Coordination Self I
  • Coordination Self II
  • Coordination Self III
  • Coordination Self IV
  • Coordination Self V
  • Coordination Self VI
  • Honed Control
  • Incantation of Coordination Self

As you can see by What links here for Empyrean Ruins, pages that link to the redirect are listed under that redirect page. This means that every item with a standard coordination enchantment will be listed under its spell on the what links here page for Coordination (Spell).

This greatly reduces the number of spell pages we need to create, and actually makes it much easier to find items with a specific enchantment, since all items are now having their spells listed as links. Now, cantrips, and secondar cantrips, and so on - those will be more difficult, but for standard spells I think this is fine solution.

Also, I would like to suggest a new category for spells: Castable, Unlearnable. To tag spells that can be cast by a player, but are not learnable - thinks like Heart of Oak, or numerous enchantments on consumable items like tusker beers and lugian protection gems.

Added a Quest Spell subcategory in an idea to help people find spells that require a quest to complete rather than a scroll from loot or the store. --Jedismj 04:41, 16 August 2008 (CDT)
