Players altering the world

Asked: 2000.11.11
Name: Chin-Wa
Question Title: Players altering the world
Category: Backstory
Question: How realistic would it be for a player or a group of players to alter the story of AC? Suppose I get a group of friends and "settle" a part of the wilderness, complete with merchant players selling their wares, and guards and warriors patrolling the area. Could such an area eventually "evolve" into a town, recognized by the development team?

Answer: To be honest, this is almost 100% unlikely to happen. To do so would lead others to believe we would give the same consideration to every group who wanted to "found a town."
