Delete a skill?

Asked: 2000.12.11
Name: big K
Question Title: Delete a skill?
Category: Character
Question: I searched the board here, but couldnt find the answer. Apologize if this has been answered.

I have a flawed char. I think re-rolling is pretty tough after months of playing. A better option IMHO would be to delete a trained skill and get back *half* the credits. The char would thus be weaker penalizing the user for poor initial design - but no such a harsh penalty as reroll.

Im sure many folks were/are attached to their first char and I for one didnt understand the importance of skill credits till ~lvl 20.

Any chance?

Tangent: Any chance of bringning back the tremendous monouga - it looks very cool from the screen shots.

Thx, K.

Answer: The issue of skill sell-back has been hotly debated many times in the last few months. I personally am of the opinion that skill sellback of any sort will only aggrevate the spreadsheet-driven "template of the moment" trend endemic to AC. A better solution is to make skills worth what you pay for them. This can be done with content, to an extent. Some things do require coding time, which is always extremely limited. But I'd rather invest code time in new tricks for existing skills than making skill sellback work.

For now, at least, the answer is no. If things change, you can rest assured that Ken Troop will probably bring it up for public discussion.
