Question Title: Weather
Category: Landscape
Question: How is the weather generated inside the engine.. Is rain a random event or do full weather systems move about the world. By the props on the game.. I'm a n00b and already find myself addicted to darktide.. the political structure and paranoia are intents.

Answer: Hi - I'm your local weatherman, and I create the weather in a series of configuration files. A day is randomly chosen from a list of days, and each day contains a list of key frames for different points in the day - such as the sun coming up, the rain starting, the color and amount of ambient and directional light, etc. At midnight, I silently sneak in and switch the days on you, while the stars are out and the clouds are away.

Sometimes, if an event calls for it, I'll create new day files or artwork, such as the borialis effect that was prominant throughout the sudden season. The weather happens everywhere in the world at once, although it can sometimes be out a sync by a minute or so..
