Question: Do magical protections (i.e. bludgeoning protection self) have any effect on damage you recieve from hollow weapons? Or do attacks from these weapons always ignore the effects of any spell?

Answer: No, hollow weapons ignore both item magic spells (brittlemail, impenitribility, banes and lures) as well as the life magic spells (armor, imperil, protection and vuln).
