General

This is the last of six quests in the Clutch of Kings, or Burun Kings, series of quests.
It is broken up into seven parts. The first part, on Xi Ru's Island can be done beforehand with a preparation group (Lockpick required).
The rest of the group can join in from the second part, which involves a small dungeon, an island just for the W Dires coast, a larger dungeon, a puzzle, another dungeon, and finally the boss, Browerk.
The trophy is acquired from the ground after killing the boss. It is then taken to Cragstone, and given to Guard Haigh for your reward(s); or can be saved for the Clutch of Kings series.
You will be facing Burun Ruuks and Burun Guruks in both dungeons and with the boss. All the monsters are commonly weak to frost and additionally a Critical Strike weapon will be needed for the boss fight.


Walk Through

Note: To access Xi Ru's Island, speak to the Watcher of the Dead at 60.1S, 88.1W in Ayan Baqur.

Part 1: Xi Ru's Island (Preparation)

Note: This preparation can be completed by 1 person with [[Lockpick (Skill) ahead of time.

Steamy Font (North)

  1. Enter the Steamy Font at 91.1S, 89.6E

Balmy Font (South)

  1. Enter the Balmy Font at 91.5S, 89.7E.

Humid Font (East)

  1. Enter the Humid Font at 91.3S, 89.8E

Muggy Font (West)

  1. Enter the Muggy Font at 91.5S, 89.4E
  1. With different teams (lockpick required), you will have to pull a series of levers to open Sealed Valves.
  2. See King 6 Browerk Part 1A, King 6 Browerk Part 1B, King 6 Browerk Part 1C and King 6 Browerk Part 1D for a detailed walk through.
  3. When all valves are opened, the rest of the group can join in.
  4. Run up to the tower, jump to the floating platform with the crystal.
  5. When all are in, talk to the Font Guardian, and a portal will spawn downstairs.
    • Important: The portal does not last long, so wait until everyone has made the jump and is prepared to use the portal before talking to the Font Guardian.

Part 2: Qin Xikit's Hidden Crown

  1. This is a small dungeon. After portaling in, ONE person use the Enscorcelled Dais, which will give them Qin Xikit's Crown, and spawn several Ancient Defenders (Ghosts):
    As <Player Name> lifts the crown from the dais, a thin wisp of light is pulled forward. A great protector has been disturbed. The only way to open the door leading from this chamber is to defeat the defender. Only then could one use the crown to unseal the way to Qin Xikit's temple.
  2. Move through the door, use a lever to open next door
  3. When everyone is in, hand the crown to the Enchanted Dais in this room
  4. A (short-lived) portal will spawn, use it

Part 3A: Qin Xikit's Island

  1. You'll be landing on an island (no creatures) near the W coast of the Dires
  2. Run to the temple in the NW corner. Go all the way up, and shift jump down.
  3. If the portal device isn't active, 4 people will need to use the Eyes in the 4 corners
  4. They will give 5% vitae each
  5. Use the Portal Device
    Portal Device teleports you with Qin Xikit's Antechamber.

Part 3B: Qin Xikit's Antechamber

  1. You'll be landing in a dungeon, much like the first dungeons of the other Kings
  2. See King 6 Browerk Part 3 for a detailed walk through.
  3. Using the Guardian (and NOT the Device) in King 6 Browerk Part 3 will portal you into the next area, the puzzle part

Part 4: Secrets of Qin Xikit's Temple

  1. There are no monsters here. It will present you with a puzzle you must complete to progress further.
  2. Pick up an Empty Water Skin from the floor
  3. Fill it by using it on the Pool of Blood. ID the Water Skin to see how many pints it holds.
  4. Fill it the right amount and hand it to the statue:
    1. West Statue - 6 pints
    2. East Statue - 9 pints
    3. South Statue - 10 pints
  5. If you get the message that your sacrifice has been accepted, you are flagged and can do a small shift jump down, and use the portal

Part 5: Qin Xikit's Temple

  1. After completing the puzzle in the previous section, going through the Portal Gateway will progress you into part 5, the second larger dungeon.

    Guardian teleports you with Qin Xikit's Tomb.

Part 6: Qin Xikit's Tomb

  1. Using the Guardian Statue in King 6 Browerk Part 5 will portal you into a small area without monsters.
  2. The Sarcophagus of High Matriarch Qin Xikit is located here, which will give you the Ancient Armored Helm.
  3. Use the portal device to be portaled to the final area.
    Portal Device teleports you with Qin Xikit's Receiving Chamber.

Part 7: Qin Xikit's Receiving Chamber

  1. This dungeon is larger than the other Burun King dungeons. The drop is safe, but you will start with 5% vitae.
  2. Work your way through the dungeon to a larger hall with Browerk and his minions.

Lore & Dialog

Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Qin Xikit, Mistress of the Golden Shore, Keeper of the Kilika Vale in Ualannan's absence, lays beneath over thirty thousands years of weight. She has been silent these years imprisoned beneath her temple, bound by those who called her sister."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Once she walked amongst children of other suns and ushered them along a quickened path. Heresy! Cried our sisters and a great hunt began within our sect. A schism grew and swallowed our sisters in madness. They drew chains of mana about our immortal forms and locked our eternal bodies away."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Qin Xikit was the first to feel the sting of her sister's barbs, locked into a temple of her crafting, sealed away with the power of her crown."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Eternal silence is shattered and Qin Xikit stirs in her tomb. A gateway has opened and through it comes consumption. Sealed in her tomb the matron can do nothing and the spirits therein are all but gone. I am the last to hold vigil."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Seek her crown. Xi Ru consumed in madness, sealed Qin Xikit away. The crown must be found and the gateway to Qin Xikit's temple must be opened. At long last I can see Xi Ru's island, the magic that once locked it from sight has failed, a sister has succeeded at breaking the wards."
Watcher of the Dead tells you, "Rejoice! Absolution is at hand."

In the great Ziggurat of Qin Xikit, <Player Name> has struck a mortal blow against King Browerk. The bulbous leader of the Burun erupts in a violent spasm and collapses in a fit of explosive mana emissions. The leader will return in time, but the victory should be enjoyed for the moment. Huzzah, <Player Name>!
