Quest Overview
- You must have completed the Ninja Academy at least once to start this quest.
- This quest (completion of both tasks at least once) is a prerequisite for the Nanjou Stockade quest.
Walk Through
- Speak to Kousha and Kinchou, NPCs in Hoshino Town. They are side by side on the second floor of a house. Note the house is not safe, and creatures spawn on both floors.
- Route: Stonehold >> Desolation Beach Settlement (69.7N, 20.2W)>> run to 78.4N 40.5W
- Go to the Tanada Toresen Temple.
- Route: Hebian-To >> South Shoushi Villas (41.5S, 82.1E) >> run to 42.5S, 72.3E
- Once inside, find and kill 6 Neophytes. Loot their masks. Everyone in the fellow needs their own 6 kills and 6 masks. This completes the task for one of the NPCs.
- Note: The Gunjin and Trainers guarding the neophytes hit very hard and are on a fast respawn. It is advisable you fight in the narrow hallways, using some members of the fellow as a meat shield while the rest kill then switching roles. You may also want to assign a dedicated healer.
- Note: As of Balance of Power you can turn in 6 masks to the NPC at the entrance for an extra Legendary Key but this is currently broken. He will take your masks but will not reward you. Also, turning in the masks to him will prevent you from completing the Hoshino Town task, which must be done at least once to gain access to the Nanjou Stockade. However, it is possible to pick up 6 new masks to complete this task.
- Make your way to a room with an opening into a pit. You will see frost wave traps down below. Do not jump below, but instead on a wooden ledge across from the opening in the wall.
- Jump your way across using the wooden ledges. Most are 1/2 or 2/3 shift jumps. If you fall, you can run back up and try again but beware of the traps below.
- From the final ledge, jump down into a small room.
- Ahead, kill the boss and loot a book and a Legendary Key from him. This completes the task for the 2nd NPC. The key can be used on the chests in the same room.
- Go back to the NPCs and turn in the book and masks.
