I have begun creating redirect pages for all standard spells in the Sandbox. All standard item enchantment spell redirects are complete along with one life spell - Armor. But before we can actually create the spell pages, we'll need a template.

Here are my criteria for the standard spell template:

  • As short/condensed as possible without losing information. We don't just want the regular spell template repeated 8-16 times, the pages would be huge.
  • Contain the following information:
  • Effect and target for all versions - possibly just using the spell description.
  • mana cost/range/duration.
  • Standard and Foci spell comp information for all levels of the spell, self and other.
  • Spell words for self and other.
  • If the spell can be learned - A simple yes/no if info is displayed in a table. This is useful info since many 8s and all level 7 self debuffs are not learnable - along with some of the life secondary attribute spells (mana boost, transfer other spells).
  • Use of the what links here feature for all spells. I've tested this feature on Blood Drinker (Spell). This feature will be very useful for all creature and life buffs because it will allow the user to locate any item enchanted with that spell. Not sure how useful it will be for debuffs and war spells - especially since those spells may often be listed on creature and dungeon (trap) pages.

I have finished the template. Please let me know what you think. There is one example spell, armor. Creature and Life spells share the same template. Item is the same except there is only one list of spell comps since there are not self and other spells in item. War magic is similar to item with the addition of range in the spell comp table. --An Adventurer 14:52, 15 November 2008 (CST)
