- Hea Karenua's casting baudren. This is a fine old drum from the Tumerok world, rich with fetishes and power. The bones of centuries-dead drudges, mosswarts, and banderlings, rattle against one another in the wind. The skin stretched across it, legend tells, is made from flesh of Zhuaruf, a Tumerok birthed from the union of the Hea shaman Niheaua and his own dream-spun daughter. There is an inscription around the rim which reads, "To release one's brother from the clinging threads of a hateful dream."
Notes
- Requires very little mana to use in contrast to the attunated version.
- Found on the corpse of Hea Karenua, one of the members of the Hea Raiding Party that also includes Hea Temenua. The drop rate is 100% and he only drops one. He also drops 4 Karenua's Keys.
- Quest timer.
- You can convert the Awakener into the Attenuated Awakener, and vice versa, by giving it to Aun Ngationa in Timaru:

- Aun Ngationa tells you, "This is a wondrous item! My thanks to you for allowing me to work with it! Here, I will just tighten this, and loosen ... hmmm ... That's not right."
- Aun Ngationa frowns at the buadren, turning it over and over in his hands.
- Aun Ngationa tells you, "Well ... here you are! Do you like my work? If you are not pleased, I can put it back the way it was ... I think."
- Aun Ngationa gives you Attenuated Awakener.
- You give Aun Ngationa Attenuated Awakener.
- Aun Ngationa tells you, "Well, I am still learning after all. Let me repair this for you."
- Aun Ngationa gives you Awakener.
