(Stormwaltz) Answer to Metric Height of Empyreans

Question Title: (Stormwaltz) Answer to Metric Height of Empyreans
Category: Backstory
Question: 1 ft = 0.3048 meters

6.5ft = 2.0m
8.5ft = 2.6m

And there's nothing backwards about the English system of measurement. The French invented the Metric System in the late 1700s. Their motivation was more due to cultural elitism (they wanted to throw off anything that smacked of the British) and less due to their desire to make an inherently better system of measurement.

Remember: If the Metric System is so great, why isn't Europe using a 10-"hour" clock? (Note: Someone actually developed this as well, although it never caught on. Swatch is trying to bring it back after a fashion with their "Swatch Internet Time".)

Answer: Again, Desdinova with the save.

Politics and nationalism aside, I like the convenience of a base 10 system, water freezing at zero degrees and boiling at 100, and being able to communicate with everyone else in the world. I just hope we don't lose any more multi-million dollar Mars probes because of it. ^_^
