Question Title: | Talking to Myself |
Category: | Communications |
Question: | Why are we unable to send messages to ourselves? I believe that if I try @tell'ing a message to my own character's name that it shows some message like "Talking to ourselves are we?" Other than providing an opportunity to be clever is there a technical reason we can't talk to ourselves. There are times when I would like to do so. (ie. Making note of map coordinates or a character's name or such) |

Answer: | No, there is no technical reason why this is done. The original designers just assumed that if you were talking to yourself, it was most likely accidental. Anyway, you can get the same effect by talking to yourself and then looking through your recently-said-things list (by pressing Enter to activate chat mode and then pressing the up and down arrows to cycle through the things you've said recently), or by writing on a piece of parchment... both of these last longer than the messages in the chat history window... |
