A letter from an Adventurer

Dear Natalia,

I have received word from K'ur that he has relocated his estate to the northern woods, at the headwaters of the river. I can't help but think that you and the other Aluvians in his service had something to do with this change of scenery. I've gone on many hunting trips in those woods, and I suspect that K'ur will not be entirely displeased with the location. He told me that you have left my room intact, and I am welcome back any time. I thank you for this offer Natalia, and I plan on returning once I have finished my studies.

Life at the temple is fine. I have learned much here, from history lessons on the Sho, to wilderness survival techniques. However, as this is a temple of Ryujii, our main focus is always on physical combat. I must say, I enjoy living here, in the mountains of Linvak. Our only concerns are the occasional bands of drudges looking for food, or rarely assaults from the Gotrok Raiders. But for the most part, it is quite peaceful here. There is something about the mountain air that is calming and focusing.

We have heard of Varicci’s invasion, but it does not seem to concern most of the warriors here. They believe they are safe here in this secluded mountain temple; Varicci’s men will not bother to come here. But I am of the minority here. Even though we separate from Elysa’s realm, we are still “bloodless” and the Viamontians will not stop till every Sho, Aluvian, and Gharu’ndim on Dereth are under their heel.

For now, I shall enjoy my relative safety. When I have become stronger, I will leave this temple, and join the fight against the Viamontians.

Good health to you,

an adventurer
